'I am here, now... that's enough for me'
* * *
you timidly sipped a few times from the Chalice of Love
though the Cupbearer - blessed be holy Spirit - brought you an overflowing brew
why so satisfied, friend, imbibing so little of the red world
when the Beloved exclaims "Here! drink all of Me"
and "So, enter all of Me"
drink the Christ like your dreams of making love
why settle for holding hands you can frolic all night entangled in the One
why go mindlessly through the rituals of religion they're a bridge to jump off into the River of Life
this River will take you to the Sea of Love where the idea of Love is no more - there, no lover or beloved
the bread is not cooked sitting on the table follow the wooing to rise inside the oven
laughter is not just for the hearing follow the sound to share the ecstasy
there's a party inside the Moon and you stand outside looking into the sky
for your soul to rest beside the Beloved walk through the open door
dallying with the mind only keeps you outside the heart
to become the Fire give yourself to the Burning
the heart longs for you to be consumed totally where even prayer is lost inside this Silence
no need to delay any longer with words - enough said ... become ashes on the Altar of One
